Meet Patricia

Meet Patricia

As a San Diego native who moved to La Mesa in 1996, this community is where my husband and I raised our three children. Now, as a grandmother to three, my focus is on the future. Putting down roots means looking beyond today; it means ensuring we leave our city stronger for the next generation.

How I got here

How I got here

I spent close to forty years in business development and sales, ten of them at AT&T. I also spent years in home lending, sitting across the table from families here in La Mesa while they did the math on whether they could buy a house in this city.

That work stays with me. It's why I think so much about whether our younger generation will be able to start out here the way we did.

Serving La Mesa

Serving La Mesa

Before I was elected I served as Vice Chair of the Community Policing Oversight Board, working to build honest trust between our police department and the people they serve. I co-founded La Mesa's Juneteenth celebration, which brings hundreds of people downtown and puts our local businesses in front of customers they'd never have met otherwise.

In 2022, La Mesa elected me to the City Council with more votes than any other candidate on the ballot.

I focus on the essential services that keep our city running smoothly every day. One initiative I am particularly proud of is our program called (HOME) Homeless Outreach Mobility Engagement, (HOME). By deploying trained professionals to connect unhoused residents with vital services, we ensure vulnerable individuals receive dedicated care while allowing police officers to focus on public safety. Additionally, we have established a clear path to build the larger library our community requested, and through my role on the Metropolitan Transit System board, I am actively working to expand affordable transit options across our city.

My job as mayor will be to keep La Mesa the Jewel of the Hills.

Why I'm running for Mayor

Why I'm running for Mayor

With our excellent hospitals, beautiful parks, transit access, and a vibrant downtown that draws visitors from across the county, La Mesa already has an incredible foundation. I want to protect what makes our city strong while actively pursuing its future.

As your Mayor, my job will be to go after the resources we've been leaving on the table—securing untapped grant funding and managing key projects from start to finish. I am ready to do that work and keep La Mesa the Jewel of the Hills.

I would be honored to earn your vote.
